Oakley | A Cincinnati Neighborhood | Zip Code 45209
Oakley is another of Cincinnati's pedestrian-oriented neighborhoods. Like Hyde Park, it's centered around a square with a thriving business district.
Specialty shops, restaurants & pubs, grocery stores, hardware store, post office, banks, library & health care facilities, are all within walking distance of most residences. And, easy access to I-71 & I-75 makes most destinations in Greater Cincinnati within a 15 - 20 minutes drive.
As one of Cincinnati's oldest neighborhoods, Oakley has long been a stable, working-class community. However, in recent years, Oakley's experienced an explosion of growth attracting a funky mix of haute cuisine, hip boutiques and homeowners in their 20's & 30's drawn to its more affordable housing than that found in neighboring Hyde Park.
Two-story frame homes built in the early 1900's with wide front porches characterize the typical home. You'll also find a good number of brick cape cods built in the 1930's. There's a good supply of two family homes & apartments; and, only a handful of condominiums. The selection of single family homes for sale in Oakley range from $120,000 for a small bungalow to $450,000 for a gracious tudor that's totally updated.
